Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) books: Companion of my reading journey!!

Books have been my companion since childhood. I had access to books from early age, thanks to a nearby library. When I was in Std. VIII, I stumbled upon ACK books. I instantly liked them. We were issued books on weekly basis from our school library. At that time, ACK books were not allowed to take home as they were newly added books in our library. To my sheer luck, our school librarian allowed me to take ACK books home for a day as she saw me drawn to those books.

ACK books helped me build on my reading habit. I loved Suppandi, Kalia the crow, new stories published in Tinkle digests. ‘It happened to me’ and ‘Tinkle tells you why’ were my favourites.

When I was thinking of setting of library and bookstore in my hometown, Mapusa Goa, contacting ACK was the first thing that came to my mind. We got great response from ACK team and lot of morale boost from Mr. Sagar Mulay, sales representative, who is always ready to help me with my queries.

From being a fan of ACK books to being a library and bookstore owner, ACK books have been definitely companion of my reading journey. I highly recommend ACK books to gather knowledge and insight about history of India. Simple language and attractive illustrations used in these books tend to draw attention of children.

If you want to explore Indian history and mythology, ACK books are a must!! Their special editions, Visionaries and Humor and fables series is icing on the cake. Thanks Uncle Pai and ACK team for your immense contribution to my reading world and Indian children’s literature. Keep up the great work!!! All the best!!
